Jet Setting

I know I’m a little late with April’s update but as the saying goes – better late than never! In April I took two flights and jokes aside, I think this is the lowest volume of air traffic I’ve done in any one month for at least five years!

April’s bubble adventures began on the sunny island of Mallorca to celebrate my Dad’s 70th Birthday. The weather was absolutely glorious for the entire week and made activities like hiking this trail above the Port of Soller, utterly mesmerising.

April Bubble Adventures

My family and I spent half of our stay in the port town of Soller, and stayed in a beautiful luxury Finca called Ca’N’ai. I can’t wait to show you around later this month as it was so incredibly relaxing and unlike anywhere I’ve ever stayed before. After spending five days exploring the nearby towns and villages, we moved to Palma old town.

While we were in Palma, we went to this gorgeous cocktail bar one evening and did some celebrity spotting! You’re not actually allowed to take photos in this bar but I couldn’t help myself and managed to sneak one or two in 😳. On the table next to us was none other than Baroness Karren Brady (from the Apprentice). I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t straining my ears for the entire time. She’s certainly one very classy lady and someone who I very much admire.

London Life

I had a long weekend in London for one of my closest friend’s hen party and while I was in town, I went for a stylish afternoon tea at the Ham Yard Hotel which was fabulous – it’s definitely one for the list if you haven’t yet been.

We also had celebrations at The Zetter Town House – this was my first visit and I absolutely loved it! As we were a big group, I didn’t get much of a chance to explore but I definitely plan on returning in the near future with Mr O’T in tow.

Cheshire Diaries

April saw me re-establish myself on the Cheshire social scene. The first event I attended was the re-launch of Tatiana Karelina in Manchester. This is a group of luxury boutique salons that specialise solely in Russian hair extensions. Tatiana has a string of A-List clients and she spends her time jetting between Manchester, London and LA, where she’s about to open up a new salon. Tatiana is such a lovely lady and even did a hair demonstration on Tanya Bardsley from The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

In April, I also attended a Bloggers Dinner at Gusto  in Alderley Edge to sample their latest menu and I attended a Viking Stationary Arty Party at The King Street Townhouse. This was hosted by Viking in honour of National Stationary Week. I had lots of fun meeting new bloggers and learning new skills such as Calligraphy.

Exciting News

I received the most incredible news earlier this week – I’m one of five finalists up for the Blogosphere ‘Travel Blogger of The Year’ 2017 Award! There are 12 categories in total with five finalists in each category and can you believe that over 6,000 unique blog links were received?! To be part of a final of just 60 feels incredible and what makes this all the more special is that the shortlist isn’t based on numbers! Bloggers have been shortlisted based on the overall quality of their blog which includes their writing style, photography, blog design and online presence which is so refreshing. So, if you enjoy reading my blog then please feel free to vote for me as you really would make my year 😊!

May Plans

Ok so I know we’re already into May so I won’t give too much away but May is predominantly all about catching up with friends. I’ve been out of the UK for 18 months, so now that I’m home, I’m making May my catch-up month with friends both in the blogging and non-blogging world. You can see what I’ve been getting up to later in the month but I will say that it’s wonderful to be back in the UK.

I’m heading to the Cotswolds shortly to watch one of my besties get married and I’ll also be spending a lot of this month in Wales. Lastly, I wouldn’t be doing justice to Planes & Champagne if I didn’t jet off anywhere would I?! I have one overseas trip planned towards the end of the month which is to the South of Spain in sunny Marbella. This is a girl’s trip and I for one cannot wait – lookout for my Marbs adventures on Twitter and Instagram!

What exciting things do you have planned for May?

What a beautiful location to have celebrated your dad’s 70th birthday! The afternoon tea setting at Ham Yard Hotel is stunning; what gorgeous decor, I’d want to take one million and one photos. Also, the hair demonstration on Tanya must have been interesting (little bit of a confession – I watch 3 different versions of The Real Housewives, including Cheshire, haha).

ps. I’ve voted for you as travel blogger of the year, you absolutely deserve it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you so much Gabrielle – that’s so very kind of you!! Hahaha I love that you watch the RHOC – you’re not the only one 😉 it’s certainly addictive. Tanya is exactly the same in the flesh as she on screen! Mallorca was gorgeous especially the coastal towns and The private rooms at The Ham Yard are just fabulous! xx
