After experiencing ultimate spa luxury at the World’s First Underwater Spa, it was time for Mr O’T and I to scope out Huvafen Fushi’s destination dining options. Given the resort is on the smaller side, I was pleasantly surprised at quite how many dining options are available to guests.
RAW is located on its own overwater pavilion and is Huvafen Fushi’s signature raw food restaurant. Offering guests a relaxed yet idyllic setting, the restaurant is rustic chic at its best.
To escape the heat, you may want to sit inside where you can still lap up the stunning aquatic landscape, but without suffering from the heat of the midday sun.
The chefs only use organic produce at RAW, with their main focus on serving healthy and nutritious protein. This type of food concept isn’t for everyone but it’s ideal for health conscious guests and those who prefer a vegetarian lifestyle where no meat, seafood or eggs are used.
The menu isn’t extensive but what RAW does offer is quite simply mouthwatering. I recommend the zucchini, cucumber and tomato lasagne served with walnut, ricotta cheese and arugula pesto and the reef fish carpaccio with pomegranate and pink peppercorns which is heaven on a plate.
RAW only serves food at lunchtime but it’s overwater bar is open until the early hours of the morning. The views from here speak for themselves and until the sun begins to set, you’re pretty much guaranteed to have the entire area to yourself.
Mr O’T and I enjoyed a wonderful sunset at RAW Bar after feeding the stingrays which occurs daily at 6:30pm.
Celsius is the only restaurant on the island open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whilst it isn’t set over the water, the majority of tables are on the beach, offering guests a unique ‘foot in sand’ experience with spectacular views to boot.
Breakfast is a combination of buffet and a la carte hot and cold dishes whilst lunch and dinner are geared for an international palate.
Umbar offers residents a chilled, open air, beachside hangout and is located right next to the hotel’s main infinity pool.
The bartender serves some fantastic cocktails and it’s an ideal chill out area for taking time out from sunbathing.
You can also order Italian food from the hotel’s resident Italian restaurant, Fogliani’s. Martini and pizza anyone?
Vinum is one of Huvafen Fushi’ more unique destination dining options. Located 8 metres beneath the Indian Ocean, VINUM is home to more than 6,000 prestigious wines from around the world and numerous bottles of champagne.
The venue is a cool and sophisticated change from the resort’s other restaurants, offering guests a more unique and intimate dining experience.
Special dinners are held at VINUM once a week where a culinary chef and sommelier are on hand to take you through an exquisite dining experience. You can also hire the venue out separately for a private meal with that special someone.
SALT depicts moonlight dining down to a T and is Huvafen Fushi’s over the water fine dining restaurant.
Specialising in seafood cuisine, this is one breathtaking restaurant not to be missed.
The chefs also operate an open-air kitchen policy, so you can watch them hard at work, if you’re not too busy staring into each others eyes 😉.
Huvafen Fushi really is your one-way ticket to hideaway bliss in the Maldives. Offering guests an incredible array of destination dining options and unique bucket list experiences, including the World’s First Underwater Spa, your every wish really is catered to at this stunning Maldives resort.
